Cisco SAN Insights Discovery Release Notes, Release 2.x

Cisco SAN Insights Discovery (SID) provides information about SAN health by analyzing Cisco MDS and Brocade Fibre Channel switches in your fabric.

This document describes the features, issues, and limitations for Cisco SID. Release notes are sometimes updated with new information about restrictions and caveats.

The documentation set for this product strives to use bias-free language. New Software Features

The following table lists the new software features in this release:

Feature Description

Cisco SID Analysis

The following features were introduced:

  • The Compare with other report dashboard is introduced to compare two reports of the same fabric.

  • The EOS/EOL dashboard is introduced to display information about the end-of-support or end-of-life announcement alerts.

  • The Migration dashboard is introduced to help you to migrate from Brocade to Cisco switches. This information will be made available only to Cisco employees and some Cisco partners.

  • A new feature is introduced to display a detailed information about the switch score when you click the Switch Health score.

  • A new feature is introduced to display host and storage devices in a topology.

  • A new feature is introduced to display the Rx and Tx utilization ranges in the port consumption view.

  • A new feature is introduced to display the error alerts for fabrics and switches.

Cisco SID Collector

The following features were introduced:

  • Cisco SID Collector is supported on Linux.

  • A new feature is introduced to choose a subset of switches for data collection.

  • A new feature is introduced to collect port throughput for a specific duration.

  • Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2

  • Latest version of Google Chrome

In Release 2.x, Cisco SID supports only Cisco MDS and Brocade switches.
